It seems to me that in order to follow Jesus like I’m called to do, that a lot of the work I do isn’t physical work, but rather mental.
In order to …be transformed by the renewing of my mind… that Paul calls me to do in Romans 12:2, I have to change the way I naturally, instinctively think about many things, but maybe none so much as how I naturally react to persecution.
This week, Paul is going to teach us a masterclass lesson on how to react to persecutions when our heart and mind is rightly focused on our great mission of seeking and saving the lost, so that we can live out our ambassadorship.
As Paul states in 2 Corinthians 5:20, Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
One of my favorite things to do is to share Jesus with people that are seeking and want to know about Him, but Jesus, Paul and many others teach us in the New Testament that our own persecution brings its own unique opportunities to share the gospel in powerful ways.
This week, as we continue our study of the Book of Acts, let us pray that the Holy Spirit will do His good work of transforming how we think about persecution so that we might think less like ourselves and more like Jesus.
Much love!
