Aren’t the first four words of the Bible fantastic? Genesis 1:1 says,
In the beginning God…
Although there are many intricate arguments that can be made for the existence of God, the Bible doesn’t do that. The closest thing we get to arguments about the existence of God comes from David in Psalm 19:1-4,
The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. 2 Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words; Their voice is not heard. 4 Their sound has gone out through all the earth, and their utterances to the end of the world.
And the Apostle Paul who says in Romans 1:18-20,
18…men…suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
When I share my faith, I like to begin in Genesis. Genesis begins with the biggest questions that people have always shared, like, “How did the world and everything come into existence?”, “What is the origin of mankind?”, “What is sin and where did it come from and what are its lasting results?”
For those of you who enjoy reading articles, I’m going to take a more structured approach to my bulletin article writing for a while and write articles about Genesis.
