What would you do if you only had one week left to live? This week we begin a new series in Matthew that I’ve entitled, “The Last Week.”
In this new series, as we progress through the Book of Matthew, we will examine through the eyes of Matthew (and borrowing some details from Mark, Luke and John) what Jesus did in his last week on earth in human form.
Jesus has his own bucket list of things to accomplish in His last week and not surprising, a lot of the things he did look nothing like what we would guess a person would do in their last week.
Here are some highlights:
- A dinner with friends
- A donkey ride
- He cleans the temple
- He curses a tree
- He teaches A LOT
- He condemns the religious establishment
- He cries for the people
- He celebrates Passover
- He replaces Passover with something new
- He prays for all believers
- He gets arrested and enters no plea
- He is crucified
This has been the greatest study of my life and it’s my prayer that God will open our eyes to truths and realities we haven’t seen before, that we’ll make corrections in our lives as needed changes are revealed to us and that God will work great transformations in our hearts as we continue this study.
Much love!
